The Acute Rehab Unit (ARU) at Ottumwa Regional Health Center is the only ARU within in a 75 mile radius of Ottumwa. It is an inpatient rehabilitation unit, and unlike a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) does not require a prior 3 day acute stay for admission.
Our Acute Rehabilitation Unit was surveyed by Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and once again received an unconditional accreditation for a three year period. This year the accreditation also included the stroke specialty certification, recognizing the exceptional work of the staff on the unit helping to maximize the quality of life.
